Coumtay is one of the many corries which come off the Comeragh Plateau in Waterford. The name Comeragh most likely derives from the Irish word cumarach, meaning a place characterised by ravines and valleys. This walk starts by going up the ridge between Coumtay and Coummahon, staying on the east side of Coumtay with a brief detour over to Coumfea to the north.
